A place for horses and humans to come together and start their healing journey.
A passion for creating safe spaces for healing from trauma, abuse, neglect, and pain.
Our services are available for rescue and rehabilitation of horses. We work on finding the true passion of each equine by listening to them. If therapy is a good fit, they are available for use in our therapy herd. If it is not a good fit, we are committed to finding the right home for each rescue.
Rescue
We provide a safe place for our equine friends to heal from any past experiences. Currently, our herd is made up of mostly ex-lesson horses who gave more of themselves to people than many realize. It really takes a toll on their bodies so they now receive consistent care by an entire team. We have one OTTB mare who is still recovering in her body from the trauma of racing. However, she is now mentally and emotionally ready to engage with people.
Rehabilitation
After enough time for physical healing, we provide the care needed for each equine tailored to their specific needs. Emotional healing takes time and care and we are dedicated to providing the space needed for this.
Typical services include veterinary care, osteopathy, farrier work, dental care, nutritional support, supplements, stretching, movement support, and when appropriate, a gradual introduction back to riding.
Equine Assisted Therapy
Equine assisted therapy will be provided under the supervision of a licensed LCPC while under a provisional license and moving to independent counseling services when fully licensed. It is currently expected that work to build up a caseload will begin May of 2025. Retire
Equines in our care that do not find new homes for whatever reason and are not part of the therapy herd will have a comfortable place to retire here with us and receive the care they need.
Rehome
Rehoming efforts will be completed by Connected Souls Equine. I take the time to understand what each horse wants and needs in their perfect forever home. Homes for rescue horses will be expected to provide similar care for each equine and most importantly-love them!
Donations
It is expensive to provide individualized, comprehensive care to each equine. If you would like to donate to our rescue, we welcome any and all help whether it is financial, medical, nutritional, supplies, or anything else. We appreciate the support received and thank all who support us in any way.
